Generations after a bloody nuclear civil war, the United States is not as we know it. The inhabitants of the Northern states live as normal, but the South, after being decimated during the Second Civil War, are a changed people. Nuclear fallout has stolen any vestige of humanity. When the aircraft carrying the President of the Northern United States takes an erroneous detour, it is shot down somewhere over the south.

Now Brek and his small team of Delta Force soldiers must infiltrate enemy territory to save the president. But outnumbered and with time rapidly running out, they will be hard pressed to fight off the onslaught about to surround them. Can they survive?

Ground Zero A Dystopian Short Story eBook Keith McArdle Tim Marquitz

Although quite a short story the pace is fast with non stop action that is not too different to that of Matthew Reilly's work.
I really enjoyed it and look forward to any further short or full length prequels or sequels that may expand the story on the events or the characters in this book.

Ground Zero A Dystopian Short Story eBook Keith McArdle Tim Marquitz Reviews

Keith McArdle has done it again with another fast paced action thriller in the vein of Matthew Reilly.
Fast paced action, another good read by Keith.
Gripping, fast paced, hard to put down. The author clearly knows his subject well and his knowledge and enthusiasm is infectious, making ground zero an excellent story.
Fast paced, nice plot and left me wanting much more!! Looking forward to whatever comes next
I received an advance copy of this story on the understanding that I was to critique and check for errors etc. I read it straight through in one sitting and was so absorbed that I forgot to do the checks I'd agreed to. I re-read it to look for anything untoward, but still found it just as good the second time. An excellent thriller, with exciting action sequences, rooted in authentic military terminology by a writer who knows his subject inside-out. More, please!
This is a brilliant short story, it grabs you and won't let you go till you put the book down!!. This author is a great writer, can never wait to see what the next book is. Looking forward to his new book 'Havoc'. Well done Mr McArdle -)
The story description piqued my interest about what a post-nuclear civil-war United States might look like. If it's anything like what's in this short story - it ain't gonna be pretty. Think Mad Max spliced with Black Hawk Down. Very cool.
