Time is running out.
The Wildfire virus has caused irreversible damage to the UK, and fleeing looks like the only option left.
For Michael Evans, that represents a serious problem. Wheelchair-bound, and with the other survivors at the castle taken hostage by a maniac and her murderous followers, Michael alone must find a way to escape, and he will have to do it fast.
Because the end is inevitable.
And the clock is ticking...

A wonderful writer. A unique take on the “zombie Genre”. Excellent prose, unique characters. Should be a TV series (as a writer of screenplays and teleplays; recently sold a series to Showtime, I humbly offer my services)’ even with “The Walking Dead” out there, this is uniquely involving, delightfully engrossing and, due to both the vivid characters and the world in which they are forced to adapt t, or die, is a real “page turner” in the best of all ways.SPOILER: I do find it a huge shame that John had to leave us so early in the series. Perhaps the author found him to be “One Hero To Many”. Still, I missed him a great deal, however, as well as his unique ideas, fleet-footed escapes, he humanizing flirtations with Rachel, and primarily his ethical, moral code. END OF SPOILER.
My one complaint, which is really more of a suggestion; is that, with each book in this six book series being so short, I think it might all work better as one long novel. There are many important characters from wildly divergent locations with very different agendas, and to have them constantly being reintroduced, book to book, or if not, just BEING there to initially confuse us, would no longer be necessary. Aside from this making the story ever further distinctive , it would join the ranks of other epic novels such as Stephen King’s “The Stand”, and Margaret Atwood’s “The Handmaid’s Tale”. I believe that one immersive experience would better serve the story. Rather than the somewhat disjointed and haphazard separate
“dispatches” through which the tale is now told. It would encourage the author away from writing repetitive-seeming events, and serve a complex, delightful, truly horrifying narrative and all that implies, structure-wise. Just a thought. Anyway, blah, blah, blah! This is an EXCELLENT tale, superbly told. The unusually high level of the writing, the particular and clever details of the new world the author creates, the multitudes of vivid characterizations, along with the cathartic and often devastating events that unfold, make this a series of books which I most highly recommend.

Reaction Wildfire Chronicles Vol 6 eBook KR Griffiths Reviews
I really enjoyed the Wildfire Series. It was well written, interesting, kept me engaged and often couldn't put it down and when I did, couldn't wait to get back to it. You find yourself very sorry when you get to the last book and the series ends...just wanted to keep reading!
I would really put K.R. Griffiths up there with Stephen King and Dean Koontz! They are my favorite two authors and Griffiths is now my third! I did just download a couple other books by Griffiths and am hoping they are as good as this series. A must read!
The five stars are actually for the series, not just the final book. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading these books and I think it would be great to see a follow up book or series that shows the survivors taking back the world. I appreciate that authors best keep readers by leaving them wanting more. The questions are left up to the reader as to how the survivors lives continued and what happened to the infected. Of course I was saddened by a couple of people who didn't make it. But you know that happens in this genre.
I stumbled on the first book and was hooked and I can't wait to read more of this author's work.
The whole series of these books are a great read. In the first book it starts after whatever happened to make the "zombies", and it doesn't really mention it until the last book, which i wasn't used to when it come to EOTW books. But it was fine, i felt once the story kicked in i didn't need to know this information. The writer is great at making a well described scene, and it all these books kept me well and truly locked in until id finished them all within a couple of weeks, which for a slow reader like myself is no mean feat!
Loved this series. I'm sorry it ended. Or did it? (I guess we'll see) I've read all Griffiths' books now, and I thought Adrift was my favorite, then I read Sundown. Thought that was my favorite. Then I read this series. Hands down, this is the best, in my opinion, of his books. It's a different style of writing somewhat than Adrift/Sundown, but in a good way. Griffiths has a way with writing in a literary--but not purply--way in this series. This style just pulls you right into the scene with his way of describing stuff, and more importantly, he puts you right into the character's head. I also loved the wit sprinkled thoughout, and love the nail-biting suspenseful lines at the end of each chapter, hooking me into turning the next page.
At times, I was pissed off at the author. Other times my stomach was flipping and flopping with nerves, and yep...some of my peeps didn't make it to the end. But I kept reading... cuz it was THAT FREAKING GOOD. Just like last week when I said I was NEVER EVAH watching The Walking Dead again, because of what happened to Glenn!! (shakes fist at TWD Writers & Producers) I said the same thing at times in the book. But just like I know I'll be back in front of the tube on Sunday, all jacked up and watching TWD, I kept picking up this final book in the series, until I reached the end. And it was a satisfying ending. Also, I think the author left room for another book. Maybe with the character left behind or the other characters in a new place. I hope he'll give us a book 7.
This series does remind me of The Walking Dead. It's similar in that when all hell breaks loose, a group is thrown together and then somewhat torn apart--pun intended. Actually, I have to wonder if TWD is using this series for some of their ideas! The scene with Glenn is almost an exact mirror image of one scene with a character in this series (I won't say which one cuz of spoilers). But I'm sure K.R. takes that as a compliment (or maybe he's getting royalties from TWD?).
Bottom line If you like suspense, drama, zombies... and The Walking Dead, the series rawks. One thing to keep in mind, like Rick and Maggie from The Walking Dead...this author is British. So there are a handful of british words/spellings that I stumbled over in books 1-3. But once I got to 4-6 I was able to read right over with no problem (they use alot of U's over there, lol).
